GERARDINE MOONEY

Gerardine is a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist who uses the principles of Functional medicine in her busy practices in south Louth and north Meath.

Functional medicine emphasises a definable and teachable process of integrating multiple knowledge bases within a pragmatic intellectual matrix that focuses on functionality at many levels, rather than a single treatment for a single diagnosis. Functional medicine uses the patient’s story as a key tool for integrating diagnosis, signs and symptoms, and evidence of clinical imbalances into a comprehensive approach to improve both the patient’s environmental inputs and his or her physiological function.

The Institute for Functional Medicine teaches health care professional’s how to apply these principles in practice through an intensive 5 day training course called Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice™.

Gerardine attended and completed the AFMCP™-UK training in London in 2017.

Gerardine is an orthopedically trained manual therapist and cranio-sacral reflexologist.. her continuous professional development means she can offer you the latest multi-disciplinary approach to nutrition, overall health, diet and lifestyle.
An experienced Pilate’s instructor with over 20 years experience in the health & wellness industry. She believes in empowering people to take control of their own lives in moving towards a healthier lifestyle.

With the principles of Functional Medicine, she will work alongside you to achieve your health goals using tailored dietary recommendations, nutritional supplements where necessary and lifestyle advice & suggestions.   Aiming for an optimum functioning system that will preserve organ life and ultimately the life in the organs otherwise known as “self”.
And remember: You cannot change where you have come from. You can only change where you are going.

To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.

Anna Dunne

Anna is a fully qualified nutritional therapist. She has a keen interest in helping adults and children to improve their health by making changes to their diet and lifestyle. She truly believes in the healing properties of nutritious food. She grew up in the family where food was always a big thing. Locally grown, fresh and seasonal. A healthy variety of food is what she can remember from her childhood and till this day she can’t find a tomato that tastes like the one her grandmother used to grow. To understand the importance of food and its impact on the body she decided to deepen her knowledge by studying nutritional therapy with the Institute of Health Sciences Ireland. Anna has worked with children for over decade and has a great connection with the little ones. She gratudated in Siociology and is a Montessory Teacher specialising in teaching visually impaired and blind children. As a mother of a young child she embraces her creative side in the kitchen, experimenting with variety of ingredients creating simple, quick family friendly nutritious meals and snacks. As with all of the practitioners at Happy Gut Clinic, Anna uses a Functional Medicine approach when working with clients. This means she treats body as whole and looks at all its systems as they are all interconnected, focusing on the root cause rather than on symptoms alone.
